These years represent some of the most difficult in the history of the African American community, and yet, E. F. Young, Jr. Mfg. Co. was not only able to survive, but to thrive.  I truly feel blessed to be part of my father's company, a third generation African American hair care products manufacturing company that is the oldest such company in the world. This fact causes me to rejoice and at the same time to be humbled by all of the hard work, sacrifice and dedication that preceded me.
